Education Center
Our education center opened in November 2010 and hosts a variety of student and community-focused programs, workshops and seminars. This 1,800 square foot ADA compliant, environmentally-friendly building borders our cow pastures and was modeled after the adjacent building covering our water cistern. The wood used for the construction was harvested from the farm’s standing dead and dying hemlock trees. Because bamboo is a quickly renewal product source we chose it to cover our floors. Large trees surround the southern side of the building, which helps reduce heat during the summer and increase warmth during the winter.
This open and welcoming environment is also available for children’s birthday parties and corporate meetings. The education center can comfortably accommodate up to sixty guests and includes a private area for small gatherings.
